Chitrān: Three Visions, One Essence — A Watercolour Tribute to Nepal
Gallery 108 presents Chitrān, a group exhibition uniting three acclaimed Nepali watercolor artists—N. B. Gurung, D. Ram Palpali, and Hareram Jojiju. Running from 14 November to 13 December 2025, the showcase invites viewers into a vivid journey through Nepal’s landscapes, culture, and emotional depth.
Each artist brings a distinct voice: Gurung’s vibrant expressiveness captures the rhythm of everyday life, Palpali’s contemplative realism reveals the quiet beauty of familiar spaces, and Jojiju’s meditative washes evoke the serenity of nature. Though stylistically different, their works converge to reflect a shared essence: the spirit of Nepal.
Chitrān also honors Nepal’s watercolor legacy, shaped by pioneers like Rajman Chitrakar, Bhajuman Chitrakar, Ramnanda Joshi, D.B. Chitrakar, Madan Chitrakar, and Durga Baral. Today, artists such as Ratan Kumar Rai, Jojiju, and Palpali continue to expand the medium, embracing abstraction, emotion, and contemporary storytelling.
Ultimately, the exhibition celebrates Nepal not just through its iconic landscapes but through subtle moments: mist, light, atmosphere—that become memory and emotion on paper. In Chitrān, watercolor becomes Nepal itself.
