Pokhara Is Calling: Himalayan Hideaway Resort Hosts India’s Leading Travel Trade on Immersive FAM Trip
Over a three nights four days familiarisation trip, delegates from leading Indian travel companies experienced Pokhara’s lakes, mountains, and village culture a resort-led initiative to reassure the Indian market that Nepal is open and welcoming.
Pokhara has always had a pull on the Indian traveller, the lakes, the mountains, the ease of getting there. Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, The Centara Collection, recently gave that pull a name, hosting a delegation of travel and media professionals from India for a three nights four days familiarisation (FAM) trip designed to show them the destination up close, not through a brochure.
The delegates flew from different parts of India into New Delhi, on to Kathmandu, then Pokhara the same route thousands of Indian holidaymakers take each year. What followed were three days built to cover the full range of what the region offers: adventure, culture, relaxation, and Nepali hospitality.
Day One: Arrival

The group touched down in Pokhara and were welcomed with a cocktail dinner at the resort, setting a relaxed, celebratory tone for what was ahead.
Day Two: Kaskikot and a Night of Culture
A scenic hike took delegates to the hilltop village of Kaskikot, where they explored on foot and visited the historic Kaskikot Durbar, a window into local heritage and the region’s way of life. The day wound down with a gala dinner back at the resort, complete with live Nepali music and dance under the stars.
Day Three: Deeper Into the Valley
The final day went further into the Pokhara valley, the hilltop viewpoint of Pumdikot, the iconic World Peace Pagoda, the cascading Davis Falls, and the sacred underground Gupteshwor Cave, with a leisurely lunch stopover at Pavilions The Farm along the way.
The trip closed out on Pokhara’s Lakeside strip with a farewell barbecue cocktail dinner and a karaoke night back at the resort sending delegates home, as the resort put it, with a firsthand impression of a destination that is “safe to travel, peaceful to experience, and ready to welcome.”
Who Was There
The delegation included leading names in India’s outbound travel trade TBO, TripJack, MakeMyTrip (MMT), Travclan, and Travelbullz a turnout that reflects the continued appetite among India’s travel industry for Nepal, and the trust these companies place in Pokhara as a destination worth actively promoting.
The trip was driven by Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara in the spirit of #NepalCalling, the broader national effort to reassure travellers particularly from India, Nepal’s single largest source market for international arrivals that the country remains open, safe, and welcoming.
In Their Words

Prashrit Paudel, Operation Manager of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, The Centara Collection, said it was the resort’s pleasure to show its Indian friends the beauty of Pokhara, adding that the team hopes the trip inspires the Indian market to keep discovering what Nepal has to offer.
Moumita Paul, Director of Sales and Marketing India Office, Centara Hotels & Resorts, spoke to the deeper bond between the two countries, one that goes beyond geography and said the goal was to give trade partners the confidence to keep telling their clients that Pokhara is calling, not just to showcase a single resort.
Nisha Kapoor, Deputy General Manager of TripJack and one of the travelling delegates, called it an amazing experience full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and said she’s already excited about building similar experiences for her own guests.

By bringing travel agents and media together under one itinerary, the resort aimed to give India’s trade and press an authentic, on-the-ground experience one that goes beyond brochures and social media, equipping them to confidently recommend Pokhara’s lakes, mountains, and Himalayan hospitality to travellers back home, just a short flight from India.
