Aloft Kathmandu Thamel Launches Street Dog Feeding Initiative in Partnership with Oxsa Nepal
Kathmandu, Nepal – 14 May 2025
In a heartfelt demonstration of responsible hospitality and community care, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel has taken a commendable step towards supporting animal welfare with the launch of a street dog feeding initiative, in collaboration with Oxsa Nepal. The initiative is part of the hotel’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and took place in two key areas: UN Park in Lalitpur and the Teku Dumping Ground both known for their high population of vulnerable street dogs.
Reflecting Marriott International’s core value of “Serve Our World”, the programme highlights Aloft Kathmandu Thamel’s commitment to giving back not only to the people of its local community but also to animals in need.
Fresh, wholesome meals were lovingly prepared by the hotel’s culinary team and personally distributed by associate volunteers. The goal was simple yet impactful: to provide essential nourishment and care to street dogs that are often overlooked in urban environments.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr Vikram Singh, General Manager of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, shared:
“This initiative forms a key part of our CSR strategy, which prioritises inclusive and community-driven action. Supporting animal welfare is a meaningful way to strengthen our connection with the communities we serve. Our team is proud to contribute to a more compassionate society, in line with Marriott’s global value of ‘Serve Our World.’”

This initiative marks yet another example of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel’s dedication to socially conscious hospitality. By stepping beyond traditional service roles and addressing the needs of the wider ecosystem including our four-legged friends, the hotel continues to set a positive example for what it means to be a responsible corporate citizen in Nepal.
Through efforts like these, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel not only brings its brand values to life but also fosters inclusive growth, supports social and animal welfare, and builds stronger, more empathetic communities.
