Sandeep Lamichhane to Join Nepal in West Indies

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a big cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) every two years. This year, it’s the ninth edition, and it’s being held from June 1 to 29, 2024. The West Indies and the United States are hosting it together, which is pretty exciting!

Unlike before, this time, there are more teams playing, a total of 20! This includes the hosts, the top eight teams from the last tournament in 2022, and some other teams that did well in regional competitions. It’s even more interesting as Canada and Uganda qualified for the men’s T20 World Cup for the first time, while the United States is participating for the first time by virtue of being a co-host.

Tomorrow, there’s a match between Sri Lanka and Nepal at 5:15 am. It’s going to be an exciting one! What makes it even more compelling is that Sandeep Lamichhane, a famous cricketer from Nepal, will be joining Nepal’s team for their matches in the West Indies. He’s already there and ready to play. But there’s a small hurdle, before Lamichhane can officially join the team, the ICC’s Event Technical Committee needs to give their approval. Once that’s done, Lamichhane will be all set to represent Nepal in the T20 World Cup.

I am now joining the national team for the last two matches in the West Indies and looking forward to fulfilling my dreams and the dream of all cricket lovers,” Lamichhane posted on X, formerly Twitter.

So, it’s a waiting game for now. But if everything goes well, Nepal’s team will get a great player like Lamichhane on their side. Let’s cheer for Nepal and hope they do their best in the T20 World Cup!
