Shaping Nepal’s Global Spotlight: Prema Lamgade

Prema Lamgade On Pageants, Film, & Fearless Dreams with The Buzz Nepal
Prema Lamgade embodies elegance, ambition, and artistry. Crowned Miss Grand Nepal 2024, she has seamlessly transitioned from the pageant stage to the cinematic spotlight, with two films and a Netflix India project on the horizon. From her captivating screen presence in the hit music video Bombay to her growing influence in fashion and digital culture, Prema is charting a dazzling journey that blends glamour with purpose, positioning her as one of Nepal’s most exciting global talents.

1. How would you introduce yourself to our readers? Could you share your biggest achievement in life?
Namaste, I’m Prema Lamgade — a model, actor, and content creator from Bhairahawa, Nepal. In 2024, I was crowned Miss Grand Nepal, which gave me the honor of representing my country on the international stage at Miss Grand International. While that was a treasured milestone, I believe my greatest achievement has been turning personal challenges, especially childhood bullying, into a mission to empower others through confidence, empathy, and resilience.
2. Who has been the biggest influence or role model in your journey through fashion, modeling, and acting?
My role models have always been fearless women in Nepal and around the world who dare to be authentic and break barriers. Their ability to transform their voices and visions into art inspires me to pursue my own path in modeling, acting, and advocacy with courage and conviction.
3. In what ways has growing up in Nepal shaped your sense of style and confidence?
Growing up in Bhairahawa grounded me in humility and cultural pride. Our traditions gave me a deep appreciation for heritage, while the challenges I faced built resilience and confidence. That balance of cultural roots and modern ambition shines through in both my style and the way I carry myself.
4. You’ve represented Nepal internationally as Miss Grand Nepal 2024. How do you prepare differently when stepping into modeling, acting, or pageantry?
Each discipline requires a different mindset:
- Pageantry is about grace, discipline, and advocacy — representing not just myself but my country and its values.
- Modeling is the art of storytelling through fashion, movement, and presence.
- Acting, as I experienced in Bombay and now in my upcoming films, demands emotional depth, character immersion, and collaboration.
Though unique, each field strengthens the others, allowing me to grow as a well-rounded artist.
5. Looking back, which project or collaboration has made you the proudest, and why?
Aside from the honor of Miss Grand Nepal 2024, I’m especially proud of my transition into acting. Appearing in the Bombay music video was a defining moment — it challenged me to go beyond modeling and channel emotions on screen. Now, stepping into cinema with two upcoming films and a Netflix India project this year makes me proud not just of career growth but also of expanding my creative voice.
6. What fashion trends excite you the most right now, and which do you feel are a bit overrated?
I’m most excited about the global rise of sustainable fashion and the revival of South Asian craftsmanship on international runways. These trends highlight authenticity and artistry. On the other hand, fleeting fast-fashion fads feel overrated. True style, to me, should carry meaning, longevity, and cultural respect.

7. You recently appeared in the high-profile music video Bombay. How did that experience compare to your work in pageantry, modeling, and content creation?
The Bombay music video was such an exhilarating experience. Unlike the structured environment of pageantry or the visual storytelling of modeling, it pushed me to act — to embody emotion, rhythm, and narrative without dialogue. It was raw, expressive, and collaborative, and it opened an entirely new chapter for me as an actor.
8. Can you share a funny or unexpected behind-the-scenes moment from the Bombay shoot?
Yes! One unforgettable moment was when STMAN had to throw a bicycle dramatically for a scene. The actual owner of the bicycle, standing nearby, looked completely shocked as he watched his bike being tossed around. We all burst into laughter between takes — a lighthearted reminder to enjoy the fun side of even serious projects.
9. Modeling and acting come with both praise and criticism. How do you stay grounded and confident through it all?
I stay grounded by anchoring myself on purpose. Praise and criticism are both temporary, but the impact we create lasts. Remembering where I started — as a young girl in Bhairahawa with big dreams — keeps me humble, grateful, and determined to move forward with authenticity.
