Kathmandu Horror Film Fest 2025: Nepal’s First Horror, Fantasy & Folklore Film Festival

Kathmandu is turning dark this Halloween and not just because of the costumes. The Kathmandu Horror Film Fest (KHFF) is set to deliver three nights of fright, fantasy, and folklore to the city’s creative scene.

Happening from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture (Russian House), Kamalpokhari, the festival is organized by the Nepal Film & Cultural Academy (NFCA) in collaboration with the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF). It marks Nepal’s first international film event dedicated entirely to horror, fantasy, and folklore cinema.

25 Films, 15 Countries, 3 Nights of Fear

The festival will feature 25 films from 15 countries, blending myth, mystery, and modern horror through both short and feature-length works. Awards include Best Feature, Best Short, Best Youth, and Best South Asian Film, with submissions closing on October 12, 2025, drawing entries from around the world.
