Nepali filmmaker Nischal Basnet makes a triumphant return with his latest offering, “Dimag Kharab,” a film that captivates Nepali audiences with its well-structured narrative and content-rich storytelling.

The movie follows Indra Sharma, played brilliantly by Khagendra Lamichhane, whose simple aspirations for a sustainable family life take a tumultuous turn when his plans to work abroad are thwarted by bureaucratic obstacles. Lamichhane’s soulful portrayal evokes a range of emotions, from determination to heartbreak, leaving audiences moved.

Swastima Khadka shines as Sachi, Indra’s wife, portraying the struggles of a working-class woman with authenticity and charm. Dayahang Rai adds humor and warmth as Bhola, Indra’s steadfast friend, providing delightful moments amid the challenges.

Arpan Thapa delivers a compelling performance as the corrupt mayor, a formidable antagonist whose dark allure adds depth to the narrative. The supporting cast, including Bijay Baral, contributes to the film’s dynamic energy, creating intense and engaging on-screen clashes.

Basnet’s direction is commendable, crafting a carefully constructed film that keeps audiences enthralled. Aakash Baral’s storytelling and screenplay breathe life into each character, offering a genuine and regional flavor to the tale. Sushan Prajapati’s cinematography captures the essence of the characters’ journeys seamlessly, complemented by Rohit Shakya’s noteworthy background score.
