Tata Nexon EV Max Launched in Nepal: All You Need to Know

Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, has recently launched the Tata Nexon EV Max in Nepal. The highly anticipated electric SUV brings familiar SUV styling to the table but introduces a plethora of new improvements in range, safety, and features.

One of the major improvements of the Nexon EV Max is its extended range. It comes with a 40.5 kWh battery capacity and claims a range of 453 km, making it one of the longest-range electric vehicles available in Nepal. However, in real-world conditions, the range might be around 300–350 km. The SUV is powered by a 95 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that generates a maximum power of 129 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. It can reach a top speed of 120 kph.

The Nexon EV Max shares the same motor as the Nexon EV but has a bigger battery. This enables Tata Nepal to maintain a reasonable yet aggressive market price. The Nexon EV Max is available in its XZ+ LUX variant only, with a price tag of Rs. 46.49 lakh.

The Tata Nexon EV Max also comes with various charging options. It supports 50 kW of DC charging and can be fully charged in just 56 minutes. However, charging time varies depending on the charger used. With a 3.3 kW charger, it takes 15 hours to fully charge the battery, while with a 7.2 kW charger, it takes 6.5 hours.

The SUV also boasts a host of safety features, including airbags, ABS, EBD, CSC, and HA. Other features include a McPherson Strut and Twist Beam suspension setup, 5-seater seating capacity, 350 liters of storage capacity, 205 mm of ground clearance, and a 1748 kg kerb weight.

Design-wise, the Nexon EV Max gets familiar styling with no change in the overall aesthetics. It features a coupe-like design with a heavy focus on its aerodynamic shape. It comes with projector LED headlamps with Tri-Arrow DRLs and R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels. The lower window border gets a streak of blue accent going all the way to the rear section. The SUV also features a sharp LED taillamp with a new Auto Brake Lamp feature and is available in three different colors: teal, white, and grey.

In comparison to the Nexon EV Prime, both vehicles have the same 95 kW PMSM motor, but the Nexon EV Max has an increased torque of 5 Nm. Additionally, the Nexon EV Max boasts an extended range of 437 km (the ARIA claim) thanks to the larger 40.5 kWh battery. The increased charge time can be mitigated by the optional 7.2 kW charger. Other than this, there are an additional 30 new features focused on safety and luxury.

The Tata Nexon EV Max is a great addition to Nepal’s electric vehicle market. Its extended range, fast charging options, and safety features make it a compelling option for those who want to switch to electric vehicles. With its aggressive price tag, it’s one of the most affordable electric SUVs available in Nepal.
