On Sunday, May 18, 2025, the streets of Kathmandu will once again come alive with the roar of classic engines and the elegance of dapperly dressed riders as the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) powered by Triumph Motorcycles returns to Nepal’s capital. This global event unites motorcycle enthusiasts to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer and mental health initiatives.

A Ride With Purpose

Founded in 2012 in Sydney, Australia, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was inspired by an image of Mad Men’s Don Draper riding a classic motorcycle in a crisp suit. Since then, it has evolved into a global movement that raises funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer research and mental health initiatives.

Nepal joined the ride in 2016, and since then Kathmandu has become a key city in the DGR map, attracting dapper riders and rare motorcycles from across the valley.

Start Location: Adarsha Kanya Secondary School, Patan Durbar Square
Start Time: 09:00 AM
Route: From Patan Durbar Square to Bungmati
Distance: Approximately 10 km
End Location: Rato Machindranath Temple, Bungmati
End Time: Around 5:00 PM
Fundraising Goal: $5,000 USD

This year’s event is organized by passionate local riders with the support of Vintage And Classic Wheels Nepal.

Dress Dapper, Ride Classic

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is not your average bike rally. Riders are encouraged to suit up—literally. Tweed jackets, waistcoats, bowties, and polished boots replace leather gear, while the streets of Kathmandu turn into a mobile fashion show with classic bikes such as Triumphs, Royal Enfields, Nortons, and vintage BMWs stealing the spotlight.
