The Story of Dipesh Maharjan, the Visionary Behind Nepa Event

In Nepal’s growing event and entertainment landscape, few names stand out as distinctly as Dipesh Maharjan, Founder and CEO of Nepa Event. His journey – rooted in humility, shaped by global exposure, and driven by relentless passion – reflects the power of vision, resilience, and innovation.

Dipesh’s story began far from the spotlight. After completing his Bachelor’s in Hotel Management, he stepped into the hospitality world at Hotel Radisson in 2007. Those early years taught him the fundamentals of service, discipline, and hard work – values that would become the foundation of everything he built later.

His career soon took him to Dubai, where he joined The Cheesecake Factory, one of the world’s busiest restaurant chains. Working as a supervisor, he gained firsthand experience in global hospitality standards, leadership, and large-scale operations. These learnings would later guide his entrepreneurial journey.

In 2016, Dipesh returned to Nepal with a dream – to elevate the country’s event and hospitality scene to international standards. This dream took shape as The Warehouse Café & Lounge at Durbar Marg and soon expanded into something much bigger: Nepa Royal Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd., famously known as Nepa Event.

Over the years, Dipesh has been the creative force behind multiple successful ventures including Bricks Café, Devalaya, The Strand, Sasa Twa, 1OAK, and Club Déjà Vu. He has also collaborated with leading brands such as SPG, Jagdamba Group, JGI, and Chaudhary Group, and organized concerts and events featuring artists like Monali Thakur, Siddharth Slathia, and many more.

For Dipesh, it’s simple: “It’s all about creating experiences – whether through food, music, or atmosphere – that bring people together.”

Nepa Event began with a clear purpose: to redefine how Nepal experiences events.

Inspired by the global standards he witnessed abroad, Dipesh wanted to bring the same level of creativity, professionalism, and seamless execution to Nepal. He noticed a crucial gap – events in Nepal often lacked structure, coordination, and world-class execution. There was tremendous local talent, but the industry needed discipline, system, and consistency.

Nepa Event stepped in to fill that gap. From intimate gatherings to large-scale concerts, the company built a reputation for delivering events that are not just well-organized but deeply memorable.

Dipesh describes Nepa Event not just as an event company, but as a storyteller.

Every project is designed to connect emotionally with audiences, blending global-level execution with the warmth of Nepali culture. The company provides complete, end-to-end solutions – from technical production and hospitality setups to artist management and brand activations.

But the real driving force, he says, is the team: “Their passion, creativity, and commitment are what truly set us apart.”

The early days weren’t easy. Building trust in a developing industry was a major hurdle. Clients were hesitant to rely on a professional event company, and access to quality equipment and trained manpower was limited.

Dipesh overcame these challenges through consistency and results. Every event – even the small ones – became an opportunity to prove what Nepa Event could do.

He now reflects on one important lesson he wishes he learned sooner:
“Don’t depend on others to make things happen. Believe in yourself first, and others will follow.”

Dipesh sees immense potential in Nepal’s event landscape – an industry that can bring together tourism, culture, hospitality, and employment. But he believes real growth will come when the government recognizes and supports the sector.

With the right policies and infrastructure, Nepal can become a global hub for world-class festivals, concerts, and cultural events.

As we asked Dipesh for his advice for the young entrepreneurs, he stated:

  • Start with passion, not profit. “This industry looks glamorous from the outside, but behind every successful event, there are long hours, sleepless nights, and countless challenges. You have to love what you do and that’s what keeps you going when things get tough.”
  • Gain hands-on experience. “Don’t be afraid to start small every event, no matter how simple, teaches you something valuable about people, coordination, and creativity. Be on the ground, understand the details, and build from there.”
  • Build strong relationships – “your network is your strength.”
  • Keep innovating, stay curious, and never stop learning.

“If you combine passion, professionalism, and persistence, success will follow,” he says.

Dipesh Maharjan’s story is a reminder that passion, hard work, and belief can transform industries. Through Nepa Event, he continues to push boundaries, inspire new talent, and shape Nepal’s hospitality and entertainment scene – one unforgettable experience at a time.
