Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, is proud to announce anexclusiveMaharashtrian Food Festival — a  three-day celebration of one of India’s most vibrant and flavour-packed culinary traditions,  running from June 12 to 14, 2026, right in the heart of Kathmandu. 

This festival is a rare opportunity to experience the trueessenceof Maharashtra, a cuisine deeply rooted in bold spices, coastal influences, rustic home-style cooking and centuries-old  culinary traditions.  

Guests can look forward to an extensive spread featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes — from rich coastal seafood preparations and hearty street-style snacks to deeply flavorful traditional curries and gravies — allrepresentingthe diverse culinary regions of  Maharashtra, from the fiery flavors of Vidarbha to the bold tastes of Kolhapur and the delicate  coastal notes of the Konkan region. To guarantee authenticity, all key spices and ingredients  have been directly sourced from Maharashtra. 

The festival will also feature an exciting live cooking counter, giving guests an immersive, up close experience of Maharashtrian cooking in action. And for the mango lovers, special mango themed desserts await! 

The festival is led by Chef Vikram — a native Maharashtrian with over 28 years of culinary  experience across prestigious brands including ITC Hotels, Leela Palace, Hyatt Regency and  Andaz — whose dishes are deeply rooted in the simplicity and tradition of his homeland. Joining him is Aloft Kathmandu Thamel’s Executive Chef Rajeev Shrestha — one of Nepal’s most  celebrated culinary figures, having represented Nepal at the prestigious Toques en Chablais a  international Gastronomy Festival in France and the US–Nepal Gastronomy Exchange in  Washington D.C. Together, the two chefs promise adiningexperience that is nothing short of extraordinary.
