In a refreshing departure from his recent blockbusters, Shah Rukh Khan is set to enchant his audience with a whimsical yet poignant narrative in Rajkumar Hirani’s latest venture, “Dunki.” The film’s first teaser was unveiled on the actor’s birthday, giving us a glimpse into the enchanting world crafted by the renowned director behind beloved hits like “Munna Bhai MBBS” and “3 Idiots.”

In “Dunki,” Shah Rukh Khan takes on the role of Hardy, a man determined to relocate to London with his close friends, portrayed by the talented Taapsee Pannu as Manu and Vicky Kaushal as Sukhi. The story appears to be set in Punjab, a region where many youngsters aspire to move abroad in search of a better life.

The teaser opens with Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Hardy, leading a group of people through a desert, all dressed in black, as they face the ominous threat of a mysterious gunman. Supporting characters, including Boman Irani, add depth to the story’s intriguing backdrop.

“Dunki” is a departure from the high-octane action of Shah Rukh’s earlier 2023 blockbusters, “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” which collectively grossed over Rs 2100 crore worldwide. This film offers a more innocent and heartfelt narrative while still exploring the enduring themes of patriotism that have been a recurring motif in Shah Rukh’s illustrious career.
