Former PM KP Sharma Oli honoured Rajesh Hamal with the “Mahanayak Samman” in Bhaktapur

On Saturday evening, Priyasi Music Pvt. Ltd. organised the ‘Fourth Epic Music Award 2079’ ceremony in association with Bhaktapur’s Suryabinayak Municipality and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Ward No. 4. The award ceremony intended to honour the actors and the musicians, who have contributed significantly to the Nepali Entertainment Industry.
The major highlight of the event was the official honouring of the actor Rajesh Hamal as the “Mahanayak” by the chief guest, former PM KP Sharma Oli. Oli also handed over the cash cheque of one lakh one thousand one hundred and eleven rupees to Hamal. The event ran smoothly and famous musicians gave various performances to entertain the guests.
There had been some disagreements over who should be honored as the “Mahanayak” in the Nepali film industry between celebrities and fans. Finally, the Bhaktapur’s Suryabinayak and Madhyapur Municipality officially awarded their “Mahanayak” title to Hamal, who had made three decades-long contributions to Kollywood.
