Honda CB350 RS Price Revision: A Surprising Update in Nepal

The Honda CB350 RS, the popular retro scrambler motorcycle, has recently undergone a price revision in Nepal, surprising motorcycle enthusiasts across the country. This revision comes as a significant development, especially considering the expectations of a price decrease due to friendlier tax duties for bikes in the 250-400 cc range. In this article, we will delve into the details of the revised price, the factors contributing to the change, and provide an overview of the Honda CB350 RS, including its key specifications and notable features.

The Honda CB350 RS, known for its classic styling, sporty dual-tone colors, and modern features, now comes with a revised price tag in Nepal. Previously available at an introductory price of Rs. 7.98 Lakhs, the price was increased to Rs. 8.98 Lakhs last year due to tax adjustments for higher cc bikes. However, in the latest revision, the price has been further increased to Rs. 9.75 lakh, reflecting a significant hike of over Rs. 76,000. This unexpected increase has left many motorcycle enthusiasts surprised, as they had anticipated a downward revision in line with the new tax structure.

The revision in the Honda CB350 RS price can be attributed to several factors, primarily changes in taxation regulations. Last year, when the price was revised to Rs. 8.98 lakh, it was a result of the tax increase for higher-cc bikes. Interestingly, the actual cost of the CB350 RS at that time should have exceeded Rs. 11 lakh. However, thanks to the existing stock, the price increase was limited to just Rs. 1 Lakh instead of the anticipated Rs. 2.52 lakh. Furthermore, the recent revision can be attributed to the implementation of Budget 2023–24, which increased the cost of newly imported CB350 RS motorcycles. Importing new stock with the previous taxation rates would have resulted in a cost of Rs. 11.50 lakh, further impacting the revised pricing.

Despite the price revision, the Honda CB350 RS continues to offer an attractive package to motorcycle enthusiasts. It features a retro scrambler design with striking dual-tone fuel tank colors and pinstriping, giving it a unique and eye-catching appearance. The front section boasts an all-LED headlamp with modern eye-shaped LED side indicators, adding a touch of modernity to its classic appeal. The CB350 RS also incorporates elements that enhance its scrambler nature, such as an under-seat LED tail lamp, an integrated grab rail, and a comfortable Tuck & Roll seat.

Powering the Honda CB350 RS is a SOHC, 4-stroke, fuel-injected engine with a displacement of 348.36 cc, complying with BS6 emission standards. It delivers a maximum power of 20.1 bhp at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 30 Nm at 3000 rpm. The motorcycle comes equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and has a top speed of 100 kph. Other notable specifications include a fuel tank capacity of 15 liters, a mileage of 30-35 Kmpl, and tubeless tires (100/90-19 front, 150/70-17 rear) for improved safety and convenience. The CB350 RS also features a dual-channel ABS braking system, a telescopic and twin hydraulic suspension setup, and a seat height of 800 mm.

The Honda CB350 RS, with its revised price in Nepal, continues to be a retro scrambler that embodies classic styling, modern features, and powerful performance. While the unexpected price increase may raise eyebrows among motorcycle enthusiasts, it is important to consider the underlying factors, including taxation changes and import costs. Nevertheless, the CB350 RS remains an appealing choice for riders seeking a combination of timeless design and contemporary features. With its impressive specifications and iconic scrambler aesthetics, the Honda CB350 RS retains its position as a stylish and powerful option in the competitive motorcycle market of Nepal.
