How to Make Fruit Sago at Home

Fruit sago is a delicious and refreshing dessert made with sago pearls (also known as tapioca pearls) cooked in a sweet syrup and served with a variety of fruits. It’s a popular dessert in many Asian countries, particularly in Southeast Asia.
To make a delicious fruit sago, you will need the following ingredients:
1/2 cup sago pearls (tapioca pearls)
4 cups water
1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
2 cups chopped mixed fruits (such as mangoes, papayas, kiwis, strawberries, etc.)
Optional: 1/2 cup coconut milk or coconut cream
Ice cubes (for serving)

To make fruit sago, begin by rinsing 1/2 cup of sago pearls under cold water to remove excess starch. Boil the pearls in 4 cups of water until translucent and soft, about 10-15 minutes, then drain and rinse them. In another pot, create a syrup by boiling 4 cups of water with 1/2 cup of sugar until dissolved, then let it cool.
Combine the cooked sago pearls with the syrup, optionally adding 1/2 cup of coconut milk or cream for extra creaminess. Mix in 2 cups of chopped mixed fruits such as mangoes, papayas, kiwis, or strawberries. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours. Serve the chilled fruit sago in bowls or glasses, optionally with ice cubes for added refreshment.
Adjust sweetness to taste and enjoy this delightful and customizable dessert, perfect for hot summer days or any time a refreshing treat is desired.
