Kathmandu’s Curated Flea Market Returns This Saturday, May 30 at Saskar Fine Dine
One of Kathmandu’s long-running curated fleamarketsis returning this Saturday, bringing together pre-loved fashion, local artisans, handcrafted products, live food stations, and fresh tap beer for a full-day community shopping experience in Lalitpur.
Set to take place on May 30 at Saskar Fine Dine in Bakhundole from 11 AM to 6 PM, the market continues to position itself as more than just a place to shop. Over the years, it has become a space where sustainability, local entrepreneurship, andcommunity interactioncome together in a relaxed and accessible setting.
Originally launched to create a platform for expats, diplomats, and residents leaving Nepal to responsibly pass on quality pre-used goods, the flea market also introduced many shoppers in Kathmandu to the idea of curatedsecond-hand shoppingat a time when dedicated spaces for pre-loved items were still relatively uncommon. Today, the concept continues to resonate with a growing audience interested in conscious consumption, affordability, and unique finds that carry both quality and character.
Visitors can expect a wide variety of carefully selected items ranging from vintage fashion pieces and premium apparel to home décor, accessories, books, and lifestyle products. By extending the life cycle of quality goods, the market also encourages more sustainable shopping habits through reuse and reduced waste.
At the same time, the flea market has steadily become a supportive platform for local artisans, small businesses, and independent homegrown brands looking to connect directly with customers. For many emerging creators, markets like these offer valuable exposure, opportunities to build a loyal customer base, and a chance to share the stories behind their products in a more personal environment.
This Saturday’s edition will feature a curated mix of localartisanalcrafts, handmade products, and pre-loved collections alongside live food stations and fresh tap beer, creating an atmosphere designed as much for spending time with friends and discovering local talent as it is for shopping itself.
With free entry and an open, family-friendly environment, the event aims to bring together a diverse crowd of shoppers, creatives, collectors, and curious visitors for an easygoing Saturday in the city.
