LOD Ranked 50th Position in the World
Lord of the Drinks (LOD), a renowned nightclub located in Thamel, Nepal, has once again garnered international recognition for its vibrant nightlife scene. DJ Mag, a prominent UK-based publication dedicated to electronic dance music and DJs, annually compiles a list of the top 100 clubs worldwide. This year, LOD secured the impressive 50th spot on this prestigious list, marking another achievement in its illustrious history. This accolade follows previous rankings of 49th and 52nd in previous years, showcasing LOD’s consistent presence among the world’s premier nightlife destinations.
Owner Rudil Ballabh Shrestha expressed pride in LOD’s ascent in the rankings, highlighting the club’s improvement from the 52nd position in 2022 to the 50th position this year. Shrestha’s statement reflects the dedication and efforts invested in maintaining LOD’s reputation as a leading venue for entertainment and socializing in Thamel. The club’s appeal extends beyond its local community, attracting a diverse audience of both domestic patrons and international visitors seeking memorable nightlife experiences.
The recent surge in visitors to LOD can be attributed in part to a significant policy change by the government. Since April 15th, authorities have allowed 24-hour operations in Thamel, creating a conducive environment for nightlife establishments like LOD to thrive. This decision has undoubtedly contributed to the increased footfall at the club, as patrons now have the flexibility to enjoy its offerings at any hour of the day or night. As a result, LOD has emerged as a prominent hotspot within Thamel’s vibrant entertainment landscape, solidifying its reputation as a must-visit destination for revelers from near and far.
