Actor CP Lohani passed away on April 29 at the age of 86. He is known as the lead actor of the first privately-produced hit Nepali movie Maitighar. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s as well as pneumonia. Lohani died in the course of treatment at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital, said Lohani’s nephew and journalist, Bikas Prasad Lohani.
CP Lohani was not just a talented actor; he was a pioneer whose contributions to the film industry were invaluable. His role in “Maitighar” marked a milestone in Nepali cinema, and his work both on and off-screen has left an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of experiencing it.
