Nepal and Myanmar Draw in an Exciting International Women’s Championship 2025

Nepal’s women’s football team showed great strength in an intense match against Myanmar, ending in a 2-2 draw at Dasharath Stadium on Sunday. This match was part of the International Women’s Championship, where Nepal and Myanmar battled hard to secure their place in the final.

The game started with Myanmar taking an early lead. They scored in the 6th and 17th minutes, putting Nepal under pressure. However, Nepal responded quickly, equalizing with goals from Sabitra Bhandari (Samba) in the 11th minute and Preeti Rai in the 14th minute. The first half was action-packed, with both teams scoring twice. But in the second half, neither side managed to score despite several chances.

Both Nepal and Myanmar had already secured a place in the final by defeating Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan in their earlier matches. Even though the match had no impact on their qualification, Nepal put up a strong fight against Myanmar, a team ranked 55th in the world.

Nepal’s coach, Rajendra Tamang, made changes to the starting lineup, resting key players like captain Anjila Tumbapo Subba. Myanmar also made five changes, and their adjustments worked, as their players Htet Lu and Noe Khin scored the two early goals.

With over 12,600 fans in attendance, the match was full of energy. Nepal had chances to win, but Myanmar’s goalkeeper made crucial saves.

Now, all eyes are on Wednesday’s final, where Nepal will again face Myanmar. If Nepal wins, it will be their first-ever international trophy. Fans are hopeful that the team will make history and lift the championship title.
