Kantara– Indian Kannada language action thriller film– gets two Oscar qualifications for Best Picture and Best Actor categories.

Rishab Shetty directed and acted in the most successful Kannada language film of the year, Kantara. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film not only brought international recognition to the Kannada industry, but has also gained immense appreciation in India and abroad. Kantara was submitted for Oscar 2023 by Hombale Films.

Kantara, released in 2022, created quite a buzz for its unique and original story, which stands out amongst all the other films released in the same year. The film’s powerful storyline and performances by its cast have been widely acclaimed and earned it two Oscar nominations: Best Picture and Best Actor.

The movie has been an enormous financial success and has set a new benchmark in Kannada cinema, bringing in an unprecedented audience to the theatres. Kantara has marked its success as the second-highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time and the second-highest-grossing Kannada movie of 2022.
