Photo Pathshala Pvt. Ltd., based in Kupandole, Lalitpur, is a one-of-a-kind photography education center in Nepal focused on more than just taking great pictures. The team believes that photography is a powerful tool for communication, self-expression, and social change—one that can shape culture and spark awareness.

Founders Behind the Lens
Santosh Bisunke, the Founder, is a seasoned photography educator with 12+ years of experience. He has led sessions at schools, universities, and the Nepal Police Academy. A participant of the 2025 International Storytelling Workshop by Photo Circle, his work “By the Mulberry Tree” was featured by OsloMet University in Norway.

Sumi Shahi Thakuri, Co-Founder and Program Manager, is a passionate storyteller with a decade of experience in photography and videography. She made her mark as the only female videographer in Himalayan Roadies Season 1 and continues to support and mentor young talents—especially women—at Photo Pathshala.
Recently, Photo Pathshala partnered with Nepal Traveller, Nepal’s tourism digital media platform, to launch the first-ever Travel Photography Course. This six-month program blends theory with hands-on travel experiences, empowering aspiring photographers to tell powerful visual stories rooted in Nepal’s diverse landscapes and cultures.
