Sandesh is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Kathmandu. He has been making music professionally for seven years. He is known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Sandesh creates a variety of music styles, and recently, he has been involved in a music residency, where he’s working on fusing western style with Nepali folk music.

Can you tell us about your musical journey and how you got started as a singer?
I started my musical journey at 14, inspired by a unique mix of Pantera and The Beatles. It is a different and weird combo for some but that got me excited with the idea of music. I began as a guitarist in high school bands and later started doing gigs with my sister. Even now, I consider myself more of a songwriter than a singer.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
My sister and family were always supportive and a major part of why I chose music as a career.

Do you have a favorite song that you’ve written or performed?
My favorite song that I’ve released is “Meri Maya,” but my favorite song to perform is an unreleased track called “Kali Keti.”

Could you tell us about your new video?
It was an amazing collaboration with the talented singer Jasmin, and it was produced by, in my opinion, the best music producer in Nepal, Foeseal. The video was definitely the vision of Butterscotch and Jasmin.

How do you stay inspired and motivated in your musical career?
I know that I need to achieve a certain level of proficiency and recognition, which is my biggest motivation.
