Kathmandu’s cultural heart, Asan, is all set to come alive with music, community, and celebration as Nawa Barsa Ma Asan Bazar takes place this Saturday, January 10, at Janabahal, Asan. The event will be headlined by Ujan Shakya Wo: Emerge, alongside popular acts Preezol Nepali, Sarara, and Minus, promising an evening that blends contemporary Nepali sounds with festive Newari spirit.

Alongside the live performance, the official music video of Ujan Shakya’s upcoming release “Asan Bajar” will also be premiering on the same day, making the event both a musical showcase and a milestone release moment.

The song “Asan Bajar” draws inspiration from the vibrant life, colors, and rhythms of Asan itself, its people, markets, rituals, and daily movement. Premiering it at Asan, in front of a live audience, adds emotional and cultural depth to his release.

The event will be hosted by Jyotsna Maharjan, adding warmth, flow, and engagement throughout the program.
