Aloft Kathmandu Thamel hosted the third Annual Fundraiser event in collaboration with Hatti Hatti Nepal

On March 4th, 2023, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel held the 3rd Annual Fundraiser event with Hatti Hatti Nepal to celebrate International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity, which encourages everyone to embrace a more inclusive and equitable world for women. Now is the time to work towards a world where all women have equal access to education, healthcare, employment, and opportunities.

The Nepalese non-profit organization, Hatti Hatti, led by Priya Sigdel, supports and educates women from communities coming together to provide various vocational skills to assist them into self-sufficient entrepreneurs.

This year’s third Annual Hatti Hatti fundraiser was organized in The Courtyard at the Chhaya Devi Complex which showcased the handcrafted wares and native Nepali items of independent female artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. A fashion show, a children’s segment, an art zone, food vendors, and other activities were among the highlights of the event. Supporting this over 2000 people attended the event and made it a success in all facets.

As part of its own and under the Marriott initiative of Serve360, the hotel donated two electric sewing machines which is a commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in the community. The sewing machines will provide a valuable resource to Hatti Hatti, which provides training and support to women entrepreneurs.

“International Women’s Day is an important day to celebrate the achievements of women and promote gender equality. We are proud to support a local organization that is doing such important work in empowering women and promoting their economic independence,” said Mr. Vikram Singh, General Manager of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel.

Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women in the community. The hotel has implemented a number of initiatives to support these goals, including a women’s leadership development program, a mentorship program for women, and partnerships with local women’s organizations.
