American Horror Film “Primate” will be released in Nepal on January 30
The horror genre is getting an early‑year shake‑up in January 2026 with the release of Primate, a visceral survival thriller from acclaimed genre filmmaker Johannes Roberts, known for hits like 47 Meters Down and The Strangers: Prey at Night. Apple Entertainment has announced that the horror movie Primate is set to be released in Nepal on January 30.
Primate blends creature‑feature terror with tense, character‑driven storytelling, turning what starts as a carefree tropical vacation into a desperate battle for survival.
Plot: Paradise Lost
The film follows Lucy (played by Johnny Sequoyah) and her circle of friends as they return to a tropical island for what should be a relaxing getaway. They reunite with Lucy’s family, including their adopted chimpanzee Ben, a once‑playful companion who becomes the central threat.

When Ben is bitten by a rabid animal, the infection quickly twists his instincts into violent rage. What was once a beloved pet becoming a primal predator, hunting the group and forcing the friends into increasingly desperate measures to survive.
Cast & Characters
Primate features a mix of established talent and rising stars:
- Johnny Sequoyah as Lucy – the college student whose island return kicks off the nightmare.

Director’s Vision & Style
Johannes Roberts has carved a reputation for delivering lean, high‑tension horror that doesn’t rely on cheap scares and Primate is no exception. The film joins a strong lineup of early-year genre releases and is positioned as one of the first major horror offerings of the year.
