Cathay Pacific Named Among World’s Top Three Airlines in 2025 Skytrax Awards
Hong Kong, 2025, Cathay Pacific has been recognized as one of the world’s top three best airlines in the prestigious 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline also earned two major accolades: World’s Best Economy Class Airline for the second consecutive year and World’s Best Inflight Entertainment for the second time in three years.
Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam said:
Being voted among the top three best airlines in the world, up two places from last year, and the world’s best for Economy class and inflight entertainment again is extremely encouraging. These accolades underscore our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service and enhancing the customer experience across every part of their journey.
We are grateful for the incredible support of our customers, and the dedication of our people across Cathay. These awards will inspire and motivate us to keep raising the bar as we strive to become one of the world’s greatest service brands.
Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau was at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in Paris representing Cathay Pacific to accept the awards.

The Cathay Group is investing over HK$100 billion to elevate the customer experience and strengthen Hong Kong’s international aviation hub status. This includes investments in state-of-the-art aircraft, new cabins and lounges, and digital innovation.
In October last year, Cathay Pacific introduced its new Aria Suite Business class, new Premium Economy, and refreshed Economy cabins onboard its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. These new cabins are available on selected flights between Hong Kong and London, Sydney, and Vancouver, with more routes being progressively added.

Cathay Pacific has partnered with Michelin-starred restaurants to create curated menus on selected flights departing Hong Kong. These include reimagined French classics from Louise and Cantonese fine dining from Duddell’s in First and Business Class, and refined Cantonese classics with Yat Tung Heen in Premium Economy and Economy.
In April this year, the airline introduced its new “Chinese Classics” inflight dining options, complementing its existing “Hong Kong Flavors” and “International Favorites” offerings. These new dishes are being progressively rolled out in Business Class on selected flights from Hong Kong to the Chinese Mainland.
From August this year, Cathay Pacific will be one of the few airlines globally to offer 100% seatback inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity in every cabin on every aircraft. The new inflight entertainment system has received multiple prestigious design awards for its thoughtful and human-centric design, innovation, customer comfort, and intuitive graphical user interface.
Cathay Pacific was the first airline in the world to introduce 4K and 4K HDR10 content, providing a broader color range for a more immersive inflight experience. The airline offers the largest inflight entertainment library in Asia-Pacific, with monthly updates featuring Hollywood new releases, exclusive Asian cinema, Paramount+, iQiyi drama, award-winning TV box sets, the latest albums, podcasts, games, selected Disney+ Original titles, and original Cathay productions.

Cathay Pacific is enhancing its lounge network globally. Last month, it redesigned and reopened The Bridge lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline will also be opening new flagship lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing, and for the first time, New York.
