Cricket Association of Nepal Announces Squad for T20 Series

It’s exciting for Nepal to host the West Indies cricket team for the first time in history, especially with the upcoming T20 series serving as preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Despite recent setbacks, like failing to defend their ACC Men’s T20 Premier Cup trophy and missing out on qualifying for the Asia Cup and ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Nepal is determined to bounce back.

The inclusion of newcomers Aarif Sheikh and Aakash Chand brings fresh talent to the squad. Sheikh’s recent performances with Nepal A against Ireland Wolves, particularly his impressive batting, have earned him a spot. Chand’s bowling prowess, highlighted by his standout performance against Afghanistan U-19, adds depth to Nepal’s bowling attack.

Facing off against the West Indies A team will be a tough challenge, especially considering Nepal’s previous encounter with the West Indies during the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. However, with a talented squad and home ground advantage at TU Cricket Ground, Nepal will be aiming to put up a strong fight and gain valuable experience ahead of the T20 World Cup.

It’ll be interesting to see how captain Rohit Paudel leads the team and how players like Kushal Bhurtel, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami perform under pressure against a strong West Indies A side.
