Curl Your Hair Without Heat
Heatless curls are gaining popularity not just because of social media but also due to their numerous benefits. For starters, they’re much gentler on your hair, sparing it from the potential damage caused by heat styling tools. This means saying goodbye to dry, frizzy locks and hello to healthier, more vibrant hair. Whether you prefer bouncy Hollywood curls or laid-back beach waves, there’s a heatless method out there to help you achieve the look you desire, without compromising the health of your hair. Here are some methods you can try on:
Socks
You don’t need any fancy tools for heatless curls – a simple sock can do the trick!
- Divide your hair into sections, using more sections for thicker hair.
- Place a sock with the opening facing downward at the end of each section and secure it with a hair tie.
- Wrap the hair around the sock, away from your face, and then wrap the sock’s opening around the end of the hair.
- Repeat this process for all sections
Then leave the curls in overnight or for a few hours before unraveling them for beautiful, natural-looking curls.
robe belt
- Start by dividing your hair into two sections.
- Secure the belt across the top of your head with a hair clip at the center.
- Take a small section of hair from the front and wrap it around the belt, moving away from your face.
- Repeat this process with sections of hair underneath, wrapping them around the belt as well.
- For added volume, consider wrapping the hair at the back in the opposite direction, similar to creating a French braid.
- Secure the ends with a hair tie, opting for a gentler fabric like a scrunchie.
Leave the belt in place for a few hours or overnight before carefully removing it to reveal your heatless curls.
Hair rollers
A method particularly effective on damp hair is the use of traditional hair rollers. These rollers are especially useful for creating voluminous curls.
- Begin by dividing your hair into sections to make the process more manageable.
- Take a section of hair and wrap it around the roller, starting from the ends and moving towards the scalp. Depending on your desired look, you can roll the hair towards your face or away from it, or even mix directions for a more natural outcome.
- Secure the roller with a hairpin closest to the scalp to keep it in place.
- Leave the rollers in your hair for a few hours or until your hair is completely dry, allowing the curls to set.
Curl your hair with braids
Loosely braiding your hair is a timeless technique for achieving wavy hair without using heat. It’s an excellent alternative if you struggle to sleep with socks, belts, or hair rollers in your hair. Unlike other methods, braiding creates the appearance of effortless beach waves without causing any damage to your hair, unlike hot styling tools.
