Devika Rai has over 12 years of experience of being a certified yoga and meditation teacher. She specializes in fitness practices such as yoga, zumba, aerobics, and weight training. She has completed the Happiness Course at The Art of Living. Her philosophy on health and fitness is rooted in the belief that health is life’s greatest blessing.

Today, we have  five tips shared by her for the beginners to start their yoga journey:

Focus on your breathing

Breathing is the foundation of yoga, helping you connect your mind and body. It promotes relaxation and enhances the effectiveness of each pose.

Go slow and be gentle to yourself

Yoga is not about rushing; it’s about understanding and respecting your body’s limits. Remember to listen to your body and only push yourself as far as feels comfortable. Moving mindfully reduces the risk of strain and encourages sustainable progress.

Under instructor guidance

A qualified instructor makes sure your postures are correct and aligned. They can also offer modifications to suit individual needs and abilities.

Choose a comfortable dress and a comfortable place

Loose, breathable clothing allows for free movement and prevents distractions. A calm, quiet environment helps focus on your practice.

Practice regularly

Consistency is key to experiencing the physical and mental benefits of yoga. Even short daily sessions can lead to noticeable improvements and results.

So practice this tips and let Yoga be the way to start your day!
