“Gobar Ganesh” Official Releases Trailer and Airing Date

The official trailer for the much-anticipated Nepali film “Gobar Ganesh” has been released online, offering audiences their first look at what promises to be a heartfelt mix of drama and comedy ahead of its theatrical premiere.

Directed by Marichman Shrestha from the hit TV sitcom Meri Bassai, Gobar Ganesh marks his transition into feature film direction under his own production banner. The team has also released the film’s title track, featuring vocals by Shrestha himself, further heightening excitement among Nepali cinema fans.

From the trailer and official synopses, Gobar Ganesh tells the story of a young man from a rural village who moves to Kathmandu in search of better opportunities. Despite his dreams and ambitions, he quickly confronts the harsh realities of city life; from economic struggle to social challenges, highlighting the emotional and cultural obstacles faced by many rural youths trying to make it in Nepal’s urban centers.

The narrative focuses on perseverance, community bonds, and personal resilience, blending humor with social reflection to create a story that resonates with modern audiences.

The film stars Marichman Shrestha himself, alongside Barsha Siwakoti in the lead role, with supporting actors Vinod Nyaupane, Padam Tamang, Nirmal Sharma, and Mao Tse Gurung, among others.

Gobar Ganesh is scheduled for release on Magh 1, 2082 (January 15, 2026), with the production currently in its final post-production stages following the completion of filming.
