Can you tell us about your journey in the entertainment industry and how you got started?
My journey in the entertainment industry commenced with school dramas, where I took on comedic roles that piqued my interest. Inspired by my elder brother’s involvement in drama and supported by my family’s encouragement, I delved deeper into the world of Nepali artistry. College life saw me writing, directing, and acting in plays, garnering attention from friends for my theatrical flair. Musical aspirations were born as I listened to icons like Udit Narayan and Narayan Gopal, urged by family and friends to explore my vocal talents. College programs in Nepal marked the start of my singing journey, albeit briefly due to commitments. Relocating to Canada in 2012 opened a new chapter.

Encouraged by loved ones, I stepped onto Edmonton’s stage, crooning classics and crafting my own songs. Drama and singing continued hand in hand, culminating in my own song releases like “Confuse.” The pandemic posed challenges, but my resolve persisted. Recent releases like “Ekka Baadshah” and “Timro Muhar Herera Ma” further defined my musical path. With performances spanning Edmonton and various cities, I’m devoted to nurturing and promoting Nepalese culture across Canada and the USA.
Can you share some memorable experiences or projects that you have worked on?
My recent Nepal visit enriched my musical journey with unforgettable moments. “Timro Muhar Herera Ma” and “Ekka Baadshah” were recorded during this trip, the former marking my modeling debut alongside renowned singer Asmita Adhikari in a love-themed video produced by me. Collaborating with Nepal’s popular vocalist Rachana Rimal on the folk pop song “Ekka Baadshah” was equally cherished. Meeting top artists and singers added to the experience. In Canada, recording my debut song “Confuse” posed language challenges with a Canadian recordist. Crafting “Jeet Ho Jindagi,” my maiden Canadian drama, proved both demanding and memorable as I directed and led a team of 12 artists, including youths and children.

Can you talk about the challenges you have faced in your career and how you overcame them?
Navigating a musical career abroad came with challenges like time constraints due to Canadian life and family duties, as well as assembling teams for song and video production. As an independent artist, competition from major label acts posed hurdles. Being in a western country limited my connections with industry platforms, impacting my debut song’s reach pre-COVID. Overcoming these, I’ve honed my time management skills and stayed organized for my daily music practice.

Networking, resilience, and nurturing positivity aided my journey. Sustained growth is fueled by audience feedback, promoting Nepalese culture abroad, and consistent participation in events. Prioritizing well-being and maintaining connections with fans, fellow artists, and positive influences further supports my journey.
