Nepal Competes in ABU Robocon in Vietnam

Nepal’s team has set off for Vietnam to participate in the esteemed ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon), an event that has been a significant platform for young engineers since its inception in 2002. Organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, this competition is designed to forge friendships among youth with a shared passion for robotics and to promote advancements in engineering and broadcasting technologies across the region.

The ABU Robocon attracts participants from a diverse array of countries, reflecting a broad spectrum of cultures and technological expertise. This year’s competition includes student teams from Cambodia, China, Egypt, Hong Kong-China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. These nations come together not only to showcase their engineering skills but also to engage in a cultural exchange that fosters international collaboration.

Representing Nepal are six talented students from Pulchok Campus, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for robotics. They are joined by Bijay Burma, a senior broadcaster from Nepal Television, who brings a unique perspective to the team. The inclusion of a broadcasting professional highlights the intersection of technology and media, underscoring the competition’s emphasis on advancing both fields.

The ABU Robocon is more than just a robot competition; it is a celebration of innovation, creativity, and teamwork. It provides a platform for young minds to demonstrate their abilities and to collaborate with peers from around the globe. The event also serves as a crucial stepping stone for future leaders in technology and broadcasting, aligning with the broader goal of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union to drive progress in these critical areas. As the Nepalese team competes, they not only aim for technological excellence but also look forward to building lasting international friendships and contributing to the global exchange of ideas.
