“Under the Same Sky” Art Exhibition Opens at Hotel Marriott Kathmandu

An inspiring blend of creativity and purpose unfolded inside Koshi Hall at Hotel Marriott Kathmandu, where the artworks of more than 40 artists were proudly showcased. This three-day exhibition invited art enthusiasts, students, and professionals to immerse themselves in a diverse world of Nepali contemporary art.

“Under the Same Sky” presented by Marriott Kathmandu in collaboration with Prisma Stationary, brought together senior and emerging artists under one roof. The exhibition captured themes of care, compassion, and community – reflecting the fragile yet resilient bonds that connect us. Each artwork carried its own narrative, from introspective explorations of the inner soul to depictions of farming, culture, and the evolving Nepali identity.

Adding depth to the experience, many artists offered live explanations of their work, allowing visitors to engage directly with the minds behind the art. The event also emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent, with student artworks displayed alongside professional pieces in a shared space of learning and artistic growth.

A major highlight of the exhibition was the presence of celebrated artist Kiran Manandhar, who created live art while warmly interacting with visitors. “When I get color, I get crazy. Even I don’t understand my art,” he joked, expressing that art is rooted in personal interpretation and emotion. He also extended his appreciation to Marriott Kathmandu, saying, “Thank you, Marriott, for inviting me and holding such a wonderful art exhibition in your hotel.”

Beyond celebrating artistic expression, the exhibition embraced a meaningful mission. All income generated from the event will be used for charity and education, reinforcing the organizers’ commitment to social impact. The exhibition was conceptualized by Kyohei DoiDoi, whose vision brought this collaborative and purposeful showcase to life.

Supported by Bombay Sapphire and Chiya Siddhadevi Tea Estate, the exhibition continues to welcome the public for two more days.

The art exhibition is open to visitors from November 23 to November 24, from 11 AM to 7 PM.
