Three Lazy Dinner Recipes for Bachelor

What we need after a long tiring day is a heartful meal. But when you are living alone, putting in all the effort to finish eating in less than 5 minutes is just additional chores. Here are 3 recipes that you can prepare in less than 30 minutes:

The “no-effort” spaghetti

Ingredients: As much spaghetti as you like, olive oil, garlic, onion, chilli flakes, salt, pepper, oregano

Boil your pasta and set it aside. In a separate pan, after heating it, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Finely chop the garlic and onion and stir-fry it on low flame. Add chilli flakes, pepper and salt and mix it properly. Be careful to not let it burn. Add one tablespoon of water, toss your cooked pasta and make sure your pasta is well-coated in all the flavors. The “no-effort” spaghetti is ready to be served to make your tummy full and heart warm. If you minus the time it takes to boil the pasta, then it literally takes 5 minutes.

One pot rice-cooker meal

Ingredients: Half-cup rice, soy sauce, hot chilli sauce, onion, garlic, oil, salt, pepper, capsicum, carrot, broccoli, or vegetable of your choice, eggs (optional)

Prepare by chopping up vegetables. You can add any vegetables of your choice. You also have the option to add meat of your choice but make sure they are cut in small pieces. Wash your rice properly until you get clear water after rinsing it. In a separate pan heat up one tablespoon of oil and stir fry your chopped onion and garlic. This step is mainly for aromatics. If you feel like washing an extra pan is too much effort, then you can totally skip this step. Put the washed rice in the rice cooker pot and throw in your chopped veggies, half tablespoon of soy sauce, one tablespoon of hot chilli sauce, salt and pepper as per taste and mix well. The rice to water ratio should be 1:1. Turn the rice cooker on and wait until cooked. If you want to be fancy, you can make a sunny side-up egg and place it on top as you serve.

Breakfast for dinner

Ingredients: Wheat flour, water, salt, carrot, capsicum, butter, eggs (optional)

Who makes rules about eating? And who says you cannot have pancakes for dinner? If you live alone you have to try making these pancakes by giving it a little flavorful twist in taste. Always start with keeping your ingredients ready. So prepare by chopping your vegetables. My go to is carrot and capsicum. To make the batter, add 3 cups of wheat flour in a bowl, salt to taste and add 2 cups of water. You can also add one egg if you want. Mix it well until there is no lump left. The batter should be thick and runny. You can now toss in your chopped vegetables and give it a proper mix. Heat up a pan and grease it with butter. Pour your batter into the pan and spread it out evenly. You should put your gas in a low flame. Cover it with the lid for about 2 minutes, flip it. Cook the other side for about half a minute and voila you got yourself your dinner ready.
