Beats of Belonging: Nihan’s Rise Beyond Borders

Nepali Vibes Taking Over Global

From rooftop bars in Kathmandu to Thailand, DJ Nihan is making waves by blending Nepali culture with electronic beats that hit deep. He is not just making people dance along with the music, he is making them feel the music with a whole new vibe.

“I focus on blending Nepali music with EDM and techno to take our local sound to the global stage.” He says.

The Turning Point

Before 2021, DJing was something Nihan was passionate about, but it still felt like just a hobby. Things changed when he started landing shows, connecting with new people, and experiencing the electrifying energy on stage, and that’s when it truly clicked. What began as a resident DJ at big hotels like Dusit, Marriott, Hilton, and Lemon Tree Premiere, where he learned discipline and built his stage presence, has now grown into a lineup of tours, original productions, and sold-out club nights.

The Track That Changed Everything

One of DJ Nihan’s most iconic crowd-pleasers is his hard remix of Taal Ko Pani. A cultural classic reimagined with heavy drops and festival-ready energy, the track strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and adrenaline. Audiences instantly connect to it, whether he’s performing in Nepal or abroad, the reaction is always electric.

This remix also set the stage for one of the most defining moments of his career: performing at the Holi Festival in India in front of more than 8,000 people. With massive lights, a roaring crowd, and high-energy chaos all around, it was a performance that proved Nihan’s place in the global scene. That night didn’t just move the crowd, it confirmed where he truly belongs.

Echoes of the Beat

If Nihan’s DJing journey was a movie, he would call it “Echoes of the Beat”.

“Because every step I’ve taken from small clubs to international stages, it feels like an echo building louder and louder. It’s about how the music inside me kept growing, repeating, and resonating until it finally found its moment to shine. The journey isn’t just about the beats I play, but the impact they leave behind in every crowd and every place I perform.” He says.

Dream Collabs on a Global and Local Scale

When it comes to dream collaborations, DJ Nihan has his sights set high. Internationally, he’s drawn to artists like Anyma and Fred, for the raw emotion they bring to electronic music. On the local scene, he hopes to team up with Karan Bhatta, believing that Bhatta’s soulful vocals paired with his own electronic style could create something bold, fresh, and deeply resonant.

Off-Stage Vibes & On-Stage Rituals

When he’s not behind the decks, DJ Nihan is either chasing new food spots or geeking out over secondhand gadgets, especially MacBooks and phones. But despite the high-energy persona on stage, his true recharge comes from quiet moments. Long walks with music and silence are where his best ideas are born.

Before every performance, he takes a few minutes to breathe, vibe with a couple of tracks, and stay grounded. “It’s about enjoying the moment,” he says. A calm mindset that sets the tone for his high-energy sets.

What’s Next? A Global Leap

Fresh off a tour across India on June 18–21, Nihan is now gearing up for a major event at Catwalk Pokhara. And looking ahead, bigger stages with his upcoming Europe tour and Korea potentially on the horizon. Balancing international tours and future plans hasn’t been easy, especially with the challenges of traveling on a Nepali passport. But Nihan remains determined, navigating every obstacle with grit and optimism. As he puts it, “Luck just has to follow me.”
