Nepal EV Expo 2023: Promoting Sustainable Mobility
The Electric Vehicle Manufacturers and Importers Association of Nepal (EVMIAN), in collaboration with Media Space Solutions and FutureAct Trade Fair and Events, is set to host the Nepal EV Expo. The three-day event, scheduled to take place at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from the 15th to the 17th of Bhadra, 2080, aims to drive the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.
The Nepal EV Expo aims to promote and encourage the use of electric vehicles. Over 100 esteemed companies are expected to participate, showcasing more than 150 vehicle brands and electronic materials. The event anticipates significant involvement from banks, insurance companies, and various stakeholders in the electric car, scooter, motorcycle, bicycle, bus, rickshaw, and charging station sectors. Additionally, the exhibition will feature displays of batteries, electrical materials, auto components, tires, and garage equipment.
The expo will serve as a hub for industry leaders, automotive showroom operators, dealers, sellers, importers, government officials, corporate houses, and new investors. It presents an opportunity to explore the electric vehicle market and foster partnerships. Attendees can expect to witness the latest advancements in the field of electric transportation.
The growing popularity of electric vehicles stems from their role in reducing climate change impacts and promoting clean energy consumption. Electric vehicles contribute to the increased utilization of alternative energy sources, decreasing reliance on traditional vehicles that pose health and environmental concerns. The exhibition aims to educate the public about recent developments and changes in the electric vehicle sector.
Recent data indicates significant growth in the electric vehicle market, with a notable share of electric vehicles among cars, jeeps, vans, two-wheelers, rickshaws, microbuses, and buses. This trend suggests that the electric vehicle market will continue expanding in the years to come.
Shyam Sundar Sapkota, Chairman of EVMIAN and coordinator of the expo, highlights the increasing customer preference for electric vehicles. He emphasizes that even during economic recessions, electric vehicles continue to sell well. EVMIAN, an organization comprising importers, manufacturers, traders, dealers, and charging station operators, has been actively supporting the promotion, expansion, and policy-making of electric vehicles for over a decade. This expo represents a significant milestone for EVMIAN and will become a regular event, further contributing to the advancement of the electric vehicle industry in Nepal.
