The Soaltee Kathmandu invites you to embark on a soulful culinary journey at Garden Terrace, where the essence of Nepal’s diverse landscapes will be brought to life on your plate. From April 13 to April 19, 2025, the week-long dinner event will highlight the distinct flavors of the Himalayas, the mid-hill Pahad region, and the fertile plains of the Terai, offering a delicious way to welcome 2082 B.S. with friends and family.

The specially curated buffet dinner showcases authentic regional dishes that reflect the depth and diversity of Nepal’s culinary heritage. From the Himalayas, enjoy Jimbu Chicken, pan-fried and infused with the aromatic Himalayan herb jimbu, alongside Shyakpa, a comforting noodle soup made with hand-pulled dough stripes, meat, and vegetables. Other highlights include Mustang Alu, crispy potato wedges seasoned with timbur, and Lepukhu, a bold and flavorful goat head curry.

From the Pahad region, the spread includes earthy delights like Mushroom Choila, Khasiko Khuttako Ledo (mutton trotter curry), and Gundruk Bhatmas ko Jhol, a tangy curry made with fermented greens and soybeans. Traditional dishes such as Sisnuko Khole (nettle green soup), Lungghakcha, and Dupka, lentil dumplings in yogurt curry, also bring the heart of the hills to the table.

The journey continues to the southern plains of the Terai with Kanchemba (buckwheat fries with timbur), Pakuwa (a spiced, dry-cooked Tharu lamb dish), and Machhka Jhor, a mustard-based fish curry that’s both comforting and flavorful. To end on a sweet note, a variety of traditional desserts are served, including Juju Dhau, the famed ‘king of curds’ from Bhaktapur, celebrated for its rich, creamy texture and delicate sweetness.
