12 August 2025 – Since the start of 2025, Hainan has been making waves on the global stage through an ambitious overseas promotional campaign titled “Cool Hainan”. Launched across major social media platforms like Facebook and X, the campaign has already reached over 35 million global netizens, spotlighting the diverse tourism products, routes, and experiences offered by the Hainan Free Trade Port.

As the only tropical island province in China, Hainan boasts superior natural scenery, rich tourism resources, and unique cultural legacies. The campaign’s goal is clear: place Hainan firmly in the limelight and attract visitors from around the world.

To date, Cool Hainan has released 56 posts featuring 116 scenic spots – both popular and lesser-known, along with thoughtfully designed travel routes and creative tourism packages.

The campaign has been rolled out in thematic phases:

January – Celebrating Spring Festival with Intangible Cultural Heritage introduced itineraries for experiencing authentic Chinese New Year traditions.
February – Early Spring Hainan Tour highlighted blooming flowers, vibrant birdlife, rejuvenating hot springs, and tropical fruits.
March – March 3rd Festival showcased folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, and the cuisine of the Li and Miao ethnic minorities.
April – Dreamer’s Paradise promoted tourism and culture from the China International Consumer Products Expo held in Hainan.
May to July – Cool Island presented a blend of educational trips, marine sports, rainforest adventures, and refreshing local snacks.

These visually captivating posts not only present the island’s beauty but also strategically target travelers from 85 visa-free countries, making Hainan an increasingly attractive destination.
