Inside the World of Dickey Gurung – Where Fashion Meets Fierce Storytelling

Dickey Gurung

In a world where fashion trends shift faster than seasons, Dickey Gurung stands as a refreshing force; blending storytelling, creativity, and unapologetic self-expression. A fashion model, content creator, and blogger, Dickey’s journey is rooted in confidence and a global perspective, using style as her canvas to inspire and redefine beauty on her own terms.

Dickey’s modelling career took off with a dream-like debut, her first photoshoot for Ekadesma, alongside Nepal’s fashion icon Aastha Pokharel and celebrated photographer Kiroz Manandhar. “Starting my journey with such inspiring creatives was truly special,” she shares, reflecting on the moment that set her path ablaze.

From there, her trajectory has only risen. Appearing in a Coca-Cola commercial, she was reminded of the magic of the industry – the lights, the energy, the collaborative spirit. And gracing the cover of Escliving Magazine in designs by Huba was a proud milestone, celebrating her individuality and creative spirit.

Dickey draws strength and inspiration from global fashion and beauty icons. Naomi Campbell’s powerful runway presence, Zendaya’s fearless fashion risks, Rihanna’s empire of self-made beauty, and Heart Evangelista’s elegance and blog-driven storytelling all contribute to the foundation of Dickey’s fashion ethos. “Each of them brings something unique that deeply resonates with me,” she says.

If Dickey could time travel, she would walk the runways of the 1990s. “The supermodel era was all about bold confidence, timeless style, and statement fashion,” she shares. It was an era defined by elevated yet effortlessly cool fashion – an energy that Dickey embodies today.

As the fashion industry evolves, Dickey sees both progress and the need for deeper change. “There’s definitely progress with more models of diverse backgrounds, sizes and genders breaking barriers. But there’s still work to be done,” she notes. For her, true representation goes beyond the runway, it involves diverse voices in design, decision-making, and storytelling behind the scenes as well.

Fashion is Dickey’s language. If not modelling, she would be building a fashion-focused media platform or launching her own brand full-time. Whether it’s design, writing, or visual storytelling, she’s determined to express herself and empower others through the art of style.
