Priyanka Karki has never been one to stay in her comfort zone, and her latest project makes that clearer than ever. The first look of Masterni has been officially unveiled along with the announcement that it will release on Bhadra 12, marking the feature film debut ofAyankaFilms, the production banner she runs with actor and partner Ayushman Joshi.

Directed by Indian filmmaker Subhendu Ghosh, Masterni is acrime thrillerandmurder mysteryfeaturing Priyanka Karki alongside Saroj Khanal, Pramod Agrahari, Aryan Sigdel, Anup Bikram Shahi, Gauri Malla, and others. The story itself comes from Karki, with additional writing and dialogue contributions from Shan Basnet.

What makes the production particularly notable is how quickly it came together. The entire shoot was completed in just 17 days across locations in Kathmandu and Pokhara, a remarkably compact schedule that speaks to the team’s focus and efficiency.

Masterni is agenrethat is gaining steady ground in Nepali cinema and is expected to showcase Priyanka in a role distinctly different from what audiences have come to expect from her. For a performer who has won national recognition for heractingand spent years building credibility both in front of and behind the camera, stepping into the role of producer while also leading the cast is a natural next step.

Masterni is scheduled for release on August 28. All eyes will be on whether it can deliver on the promise of its first look.
